This book is science-fiction, but it is also intensely character-driven by the choices and personalities of both the hero and the villain. This is book six in the Michael Vey series. However, the book ends suggesting that he may have saved his friends at the cost of his life. If the Elgen are beginning to turn against each other, can the Electroclan find an opportunity to use this to their advantage? Or is it just a trap to destroy them once and for all? Michael manages to harness lightning and defeat the surrounding enemies. But cracks are beginning to appear in the ranks of the Elgen elite, and while Hatch still rules with an iron fist, there are signs of dissent. This book is very well written and appropriate for young readers, something which boys will find electrifying. This is Richard Paul Evan’s first endeavor into the young adult (YA) genre and I must say he excelled in his mission. If they are successful, it will be the first domino to fall as part of Hatch’s master plan to take over the rest of the world. What an amazing book I was entirely enthralled with Michael Vey: The prisoner of Cell 25. They’ve launched a new assault on the small island nation of Tuvalu.
